Welcome to TRUGrit Swim Gym!

COVID-19 UPDATE:  We have decided delay the start of lessons until June 1 to ensure the safety of the families we serve, as well as our instructor team.  This has been an incredibly hard decision, but one of our business core values is “People Over Profits.” This is a prime example for us of intentionally choosing people.  Some things that have brought this decision to fruition to help you understand why this decision was made:

  1. Although the virus cannot live in properly treated pool water, it can absolutely live on hard metal surfaces (railing, table, chairs, etc.
  2. It is impossible for an instructor to social distance while teaching a lesson, unless coaching from the deck (which is a small percentage of our lessons.)
  3. In the course of a 30 minute lesson, the instructors are 100% coughed on, spit on, sneezed on… not on purpose mind you, it’s just part of the deal.
  4. The nature of our business is traveling from pool to pool, thus exposing the instructors (and the kids) to multiple environments we cannot control.

Thank you for all your patience during this crazy time. We are committed to doing the best with what we have. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to serve you well.

Alecia Warneke, Owner

We exist to help people WIN in the water! Every summer, we travel to outdoor private and neighborhood pools, teaching swim lessons and competitive skills to all ages. We believe every student has the capacity to learn, and the more they know, the safer they are in the water. It is our vision to be the best outdoor summer swim program in Forsyth County, and a driving force in our community that helps prevent water injuries and drownings by developing safe, strong swimmers . We love it. It’s our passion. Let us help you win in the water!  Want to know more about our story…

When my son first began swim lessons with Alecia he was afraid of putting his face in the water, even in the bathtub. I grew up as a year around swimmer, even competing at the college level but I could not seem to help my son past his fear. He took to Alecia very quickly, she had such a kind and gentle way she engaged with him while also remaining firm in her instructions. Before his first lesson was over he was already jumping into the pool to her. That night he couldn’t wait until he got to come back to the pool to see her again. By the time he finished his set of 4 lessons, he was swimming across the pool on his own! It brought happy tears to my eyes to not only see his ability and strength in the water grow, but also to see his fear of the water dissipate. He was able to enjoy the rest of the summer playing at his Nana’s pool, jumping in the deep end and swimming to the shallow. He even passed a swim test at the Alpharetta YMCA to be able to go down the water slide. I can’t wait for lessons again this summer, and would not dream of taking him anywhere else!

“Charlie is really missing swimming lessons this week. We are so thankful for you, Alecia Warneke! My boy can swim all the way across the pool now!”
